How to Apply
Application Process
The application for the Bayreuth International Summer School 2022 has to be done completely online by 30 April 2022.
- Register on our platform with your name and email address
- Complete the application form with your personal details
- Upload all required documents
- Submit your finalized application
Once you have submitted your application form, we will review your application.
Required Documents
Please upload the following supporting documents with your online application:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Motivation letter (max. 1 page)
- Certificate of Enrolment
- Current Transcript of Records
- Proof of Language Proficiency
Kindly note: Only complete applications will be processed; incomplete applications cannot be accepted.

To be eligible to apply for our summer school, you must be enrolled in a bachelor/undergraduate, master/graduate or PhD programme at your home university.

We always want to ensure that our participants receive the best academic experience at UBT which includes that we make sure that the Summer School course matches their study area at home. We believe it is in the best interest of our participants and that this coherence in study programmes helps maximizing the benefit of your participation in the Summer School for your future studies and career.

All of our Summer School courses are held in English. If you are not a native English speaker, please make sure to provide a copy of your English language certificate. Our minimum language requirements (B2 level) can be shown with the following certificates:
- TOEFL, at least 75
- IELTS, at least 5.5
- TOEIC, in listening at least 400 points, in reading at least 385 points
- Cambridge Certificate („Cambridge English: First”)
If you need to proof the English language entry requirement but have not taken one of the above mentioned language tests, please contact the Summer School Team for guidance: summerschool@uni-bayreuth.de.
In case you are enrolled in an English-taught study programme at your home university, you will not need to provide an official language certificate. However, please make sure to upload adequate evidence (e.g. a letter from your home university confirming that the main language of instruction of your study programme is English).

Students enrolled at the University of Bayreuth are welcome to apply for the Bayreuth International Summer School using this platform. Please note, that your study programme or research focus should be related to the summer school course you apply for. Students of certain study programmes might be required to take part in the summer school as part of their studies - please enquire about this with the responsible programme coordinator.
In case your participation is not part of your study programme, your participation fee will be €100 (excluding dinners and the excursion).
